| | Business courses have been designed to teach students computer skills that will be of use to the student throughout high school, in college, and on most jobs he or she might obtain. They also are designed to help students pass the CUSD district computer proficiencies. The touch method of keyboarding is taught to ensure success in all other skills taught. Students will learn Information Retrieval skills, Word Processing, Spreadsheet (using Excel), and PowerPoint. Once learned, students will test both for this class and to pass the CUSD district proficiency tests in these areas. Technology changes constantly in our work world and in our personal world. Chico High students need to be comfortable with and learn as much as possible about computers. The class also asks student to develop good LISTENING skills and demonstrate ATTITUDES that are positive and desirable in the workplace. It is a goal of this department to incorporate what it is to be a successful employee into daily lessons. SCANS Workplace skills are emphasized throughout the course. | |
