SAT Test Prep

BTPS Testing in cooperation with Chico State Continuing Education provide SAT Test Prep Workshops on the Chico State campus throughout the year.

The SAT workshop is designed to prepare college-bound students for the SAT. Instructors focus on SAT question types: math, critical reading, sentence completion, and the writing sections.

Workshops are taught by credentialed teachers who specialize in math, English and SAT preparation and will include practice tests, assessment and a review of skills necessary to be a successful test taker.

This SAT workshop is scheduled for three, consecutive Saturdays: February 21, February 28 & March 7.

Annual PSAT in October

Preliminary SAT/ National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test - PSAT/NMSQT    

The 2015 PSAT/NMSQT test is offered one time each school year in the month of October. Chico High School will host this test on Wednesday, October 14, 2015
  You may sign up for the PSAT/NMSQT in your high school counseling office through Sally Chandler.  Online registration for the PSAT/NMSQT is NOT available.

WHEN:       Wednesday,  October 14, 2015 at 8:00 a.m.
WHERE:      Chico High School
COST:    $20.00 - Pay in the Counseling Office with cash or check made out to “Chico High School”
Please note:  The PSAT/NMSQT is offered only one time each school year.  The test is administered during the month of October only.

Details:  The PSAT/NMSQT is useful for providing practice for the SAT, allowing Juniors to enter the National Merit Scholarship Corporation competitions for recognition and scholarships, assessing your skills in critical reading, mathematical reasoning and writing, getting specific suggestions on how to improve your skills, comparing your academic skills with those of other college-bound students, asking colleges to send you information, and getting information about college majors and careers.  When fees are paid, students will receive the 2014 Student Bulletin (Official Guide to the test) and a Check List of where to go and what to bring to the test.

Community College is a great place to either get training for job placement, earn a certificate, earn an Associate Degree or complete General Education credits necessary to transfer to a 4-year college.
