Special Education
The Special Education program at Chico High includes support classes for Mild-Moderate and Extensive Support Needs.
In Mild-Moderate Support Classes, students are supported through consultation with general education teachers, students are provided accommodations and/or modifications to their setting, instruction, curriculum or supports and services. Students are working toward completion of all credits to earn a high school diploma.
Extensive Support Need classes are provided for students who need support with an individualized academic program based on California Alternative Standards. Students receive individualized instruction in all areas of need and are working toward completing a Course of Study that leads to an Alternative Pathway to Diploma or Certificate of Completion. Students will likely transition to the Adult Transition Center Program or other Post-Secondary Educational Program.
