What is PBIS?
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an evidenced based, tiered framework for supporting students’ behavioral, academic, social, emotional, and mental health. When implemented with fidelity, PBIS improves social emotional competence, academic success, and school climate. It also improves teacher health and wellbeing. It is a way to create positive, predictable, equitable and safe learning environments where everyone thrives.
What does PBIS look like at Chico High School?
- Structure
- Consistency
- Support
- Tier 1-all students
- Teach behaviors we want
- Reward behaviors we see
- Maximize academic engagement and achievement for all students
Chico High School is focusing our PBIS program around the Concepts of “C” Community, “H” Honor, and “S” Scholar.
The staff at CHS believes that these concepts remain at the center of Chico High School’s focused work with all students during various academic, social and extra-curricular activities.
The PBIS team at Chico High School is starting a Panther Store two days a week at lunch. This store will not take money! Students will be able to buy things at the store using coins that they receive for exemplifying Community, Honor, and Scholar on our campus. Panther family and friends can help by donating items to this store off of CHS PBIS Amazon Wishlist. Students helped to compile this list with high interest items. All items donated will ship directly to Chico High School and will be used for our PBIS student store.
Thank you for all you do to support our students!
